Marking the 50th anniversary of the Public Sector Economics journal, the Institute of Public Finance devotes its annual conference to an overview of the evolution of the discipline since the mid-1970s, as well as to a discussion of future prospective for public finance research and practice. The conference will be held on 23 October 2026 in Zagreb.

The aim is to provide insight into the key achievements of public sector theory and practice, identify what remains to be done, and assess current trends in academic research and public sector practice.

We invite historical, theoretical, empirical and policy-oriented submissions from all areas of public sector economics and related disciplines, including other social sciences.

Abstracts or papers, which must be original and previously unpublished, should be submitted electronically by 30 April 2026.

More information, including a list of suggested topics, is available on the conference website.
