A competition has been announced by the Hanžeković Foundation for the 2026 annual award.

The Foundation is inviting authors to submit theoretical, empirical and policy-oriented articles in the field of public sector economics to this competition. Articles can analyse the role and functioning of the public sector at macroeconomic, sectoral and microeconomic levels, in both advanced and emerging market economies. Articles that provide new perspectives, assessments, judgements, and knowledge are particularly welcome.

The qualities looked for are analytical rigour and creativity, as well as originality and technical proficiency.

The prizes will be awarded in two categories:
regular – a certificate, a medal and the sum of gross € 6,500
student – a certificate and the sum of gross € 2,000.

Articles, in Croatian or English, must be submitted electronically under a passcode by June 1, 2026 at the latest. Only original and unpublished papers will be considered.

Apart from paying tribute to Professor Marijan Hanžeković's memory, the Foundation's objective is to promote financial sciences and encourage scholars and experts, especially younger ones, to be engaged in this discipline.
